The Beaches of Marco Island
Marco Island, Florida
Marco Island is the largest of Florida's Ten Thousand Islands, located on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico in Southwest Florida. A world-class resort destination surrounded by miles and miles of pristine, uninhabited islands, bays and creeks, Marco Island offers some of the very best beaches in the country, thanks to its warm sugar white sands, clear sparkling waters, and spectacular sunsets.
There are three main beach areas on Marco Island, Tigertail Beach, with its endless stretch that is less developed than other areas of the island, but breathtakingly lovely, South Beach, a wide and flat expanse of beach located between high rise condominiums that offers great sand and swimming, and finally Residents Beach, which requires a resident permit for entry. Be sure to pack drinks and snacks in a cooler at South Beach, as the beach does not have any concessions.
