New Aesthetic Track at 2008 Congress

New in 2008, the ACP is offering an Aesthetic Procedures Track at the Annual Congress. The Aesthetic Track will allow practicing phlebologists to learn how to incorporate aesthetic procedures to expand the scope of their practices. Updated information will be presented on fillers, light-based technologies, toxins and chemical peels. In addition, there will be video-based demonstrations.

The course will also instruct the participant on practice management considerations when contemplating restructuring their practices in terms of personnel, marketing, capital equipment expenditures and time management requirements.

At the end of this course, the participant should have a basic understanding as to how to begin incorporating aesthetics into their phlebology practices.

The Aesthetic Track is part of the Pre-Congress program. To participate, register for the Pre-Congress.

DVT Symposia offered at 2008 Congress

This year, the ACP is adding a DVT symposia to the regular Congress program. Acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is one of most common medical problems in the United States. It affects over 1 million patients each year. The complication of pulmonary embolism (PE) results in more deaths in the United States than myocardial infarction or cancer.

An understanding of acute venous thromboembolism (VTE) will lead to appropriate prophylaxis. When DVT occurs, appropriate patient-directed management will reduce postthrombotic sequelae and recurrences. The two parts of this DVT symposium will address guideline-based management of acute and chronic venous thromboembolic disease.

The DVT symposia is part of the regular Congress program. To participate, register for the Congress.
